Amy Basu

Amy Basu is a PhD student in Political Science from Kolkata, India. Her past work has explored the impact of land reforms on agricultural modernization in India, the political economy of state repression in the Indian Maoist insurgency, and technology transfers in South Asian textile firms. Currently, her research focus is on the development of state capacity and bureaucratic politics in intermediate states as well as gender representation in democracies, with a specific focus on South Asia and other emerging economies.
