Congratulations to Shivangi Pareek, a fifth-year PhD student in sociocultural anthropology, who has been awarded a Wenner-Gren Foundation Dissertation Fieldwork Grant to support her project titled ” ‘We only paint stories we heard from our ancestors’: Adivasi art in a Contemporary Art-World.” She has been doing research for this project already in Madhya Pradesh and New Delhi, India, and plans to continue fieldwork when it becomes possible to return to field research.
Congratulations to Tanmoy Sharma, a 4th year PhD student in sociocultural anthropology, who has been awarded a Wenner-Gren Foundation Dissertation Fieldwork Grant to support his project entitled “Contentious Agreements: The Making and Remaking of a Hydrocarbon Regime in India.” He plans fieldwork in northeastern Assam, as well as Guwahati and New Delhi, India, when it becomes possible to return to field research.
