This two-day workshop will bring together the work of advanced graduate students and recent PhDs working on topics of current interest in modern South Asian Studies. We invite papers from all disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, and particularly welcome those that promote interdisciplinary exchange. Past papers have tackled issues ranging from film and ethno-musicology to state formation and elections, presenting new theoretical and methodological alternatives in the study of South Asia.
This year the workshop will be held in South Asia and we strongly encourage applicants from South and South-East Asia. Travel, accommodation, and meals will be provided to all selected candidates for the days of the workshop in South Asia.
