MODERN SOUTH ASIA WORKSHOP 2024

The Modern South Asia Workshop (MSAW) is an annual two-day convening which brings together advanced graduate students working on topics of current interest in modern South Asian Studies. Constituting the 14th iteration of the MSAW, the 2024 Workshop will provide participants the opportunity to engage in scholarly dialogue with peers from around the region and globe, as well as faculty from the humanities and social sciences.

We invite papers from all disciplines in the humanities and social sciences, and particularly welcome papers that promote interdisciplinary exchange.

The 2024 MSAW will be held at a location in South Asia from May 27-28, 2024Round-trip travel from the participant’s home city to the site of the Workshop will be covered according to relative limits set by the Council. Hotel accommodations and meals will be covered for the duration of the Workshop. 

Eligibility
MSAW participation is intended for advanced PhD students (3rd year or later) in the humanities and social sciences. Students in terminal MA or other master’s programs are not eligible to apply, nor are recent PhD graduates. Applicants located in South and Southeast Asia are strongly encouraged to apply.
