The Jackson School of Global Affairs will host a conversation on the legacy of the war in Afghanistan with Wazhma Sadat BA ’14, JD ’19, an attorney with a focus on international law and policy related to war and poverty.
Sadat is the subject matter expert on Afghanistan at the Office of Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR). In her role, she writes the quarterly reports on Afghanistan to U.S. Congress, covering all aspects of post-war Afghanistan and the Taliban’s rule over the Afghan people. Sadat graduated from Yale College in 2014 and Yale Law School in 2019 — the first Afghan woman to graduate from both schools. While attending Yale Law School, she was awarded the PD Soros Fellowship for New Americans.
