Lynna Dhanani is currently a PhD Candidate at the Department of Religious Studies in Asian Religions working on medieval Indian devotional and polemical literature. Her dissertation explores the confluence of inter-religious polemics, philosophical debate, devotional themes, and poetics in the Sanskrit hymns of the Jain monastic scholar Hemacandra writing at the courts of two Hindu kings in twelfth-century western India. Thanks to the support of the South Asia Council at Yale and theĀ American Institute of Indian Studies, Lynna has spent several years researching and studying languages throughout the Indian subcontinent.
