Please join YPAK and SAGA for a conversation with Haya Fatima Iqbal, co-producer of HBO’s Oscar nominated documentary, A Girl in the River (2015), and Associate Producer of the Academy Award-winning documentary, Saving Face (2012). Haya has also collaborated with Brandon Stanton as an interpreter for Humans of New York’s much-publicized trip to Pakistan.

Soon after attending the 2016 Academy Awards ceremony, Haya will join us at Yale to screen some of her work (I love Karatchi) and talk about her experiences as a documentary filmmaker and journalist from Pakistan. In particular, we will showcase and discuss her work with:

- Victims of attempted honor killings
- Vulnerable polio health workers
- Bomb disposal officers in high-risk areas
- Social entrepreneurs in education in gang-dominated or conservative societies
