It has been over a month since the Indian government abrogated Article 370, which constitutionally guaranteed Indian-administered Kashmir limited autonomy. Since then, the region has witnessed a crackdown and communications blockade.
Come join us for a panel discussion with Mr. Salman Anees Soz (Yale SOM ’00) and Yale South Asian Studies Professors Supriya Gandhi, Sushant Singh, and Sarah Khan. Mr. Soz is a member of the Indian National Congress and Kashmiri advocate of a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir issue. He formerly worked for the World Bank and Asian Development Bank; and frequently contributes to numerous media outlets including The Indian Express, Times of India, Hindustan Times, The Hindu, Economic Times, and Huffington Post. You can find out more about Mr. Soz on his website, https://www.salmansoz.com/
The panelists will delve into their relative areas of expertise regarding the conflict and will accept questions at the end. The discussion will be moderated by Shreeya Singh.
